Oysterfied

City festivals within the inner city limits of San Antonio are a rare occasion for us. Anytime we stop in town it's either up North at Cowboys or out West at J.T. Floores in Helotes. Friday afternoon however, the Fiesta Oyster Bake took place in the Western part of the city right next to Saint Mary's University in a very diverse and cultural part of town.

On the stage with us for the day was Two Tons of Steel who undoubtedly put on an awesome performance of classic country throwback tunes as well as countless genuine rockabilly jigs that had the whole park rocking! Be sure not to miss them this summer as you can catch them at Gruene Hall for "Two Ton Tuesday" all summer long...and for anyone who follows my blogs, you know just how much I dig carnival and fair food opportunities. Friday was no different, after some pizza, a slushee, sausage, and some fresh squeezed watermelon juice I was more than satisfied haha!

With the day being centered mostly around families and children, an earlier set time was on queue with a 9 p.m. start, something more on the rare side for us. With the shorter scheduled nature of the day we were only asked to play 75 mins as well due to the fact they had a huge fireworks show right at the conclusion of our set. And let me tell ya it was quite spectacular!

On the last note for the weekend, we always enjoy the privilege of being asked to perform at people's weddings. Corpus Christi happened to be the location we were at Saturday to make it all happen. From custom vinyl dance floors, ice bars, and a slew of beautiful decor and flower arrangements, there could not have been a more perfect wedding in my opinion.

For the entire greater Austin area, be sure to come see us this Wednesday evening out at Nutty Brown Amphitheater as we have an earlier show date in this year's KVET live music series...unlike past years where we have had a mid August date with all the sweat included haha. We will also be taking a visit into the studio this week as Aaron and the Orphans attempt to re-record some old classics for an upcoming project ;).

Last but certainly not least, we can't wait for our last visit of the school year to Raider Nation in Lubbock this Saturday! We're all hoping for a good one!
